Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin and then tightened on jumping and lost ground. When the pace steadied near the 700m improved onto heels & restrained. Continued to be held up until the entrance of the home straight. Rdr reported instructed to be in a forward position, however after being hampered at start, gelding settled further back than anticipated, adding was not suited when the pace steadied midrace.

When asked about performance, Rdr stated gelding travelled comfortably in run, however when placed under pressure passing the 300m finished off only fairly. A post-race vet exam revealed gelding to be displaying thumps and also to have a poor recovery. The stable to report back any abs which may come to light in the following days.
