when questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the mare, Trainer L Birchley stated that at the beginning of this preparation SHEZA FIRECRACKER was a late scratching at the barriers in Mackay resulting in the mare missing a suitable race which resulted in SHEZA FIRECRACKER starting over a shorter distance at the Sunshine Coast in a 1100m race. He added that the mare had pleased in its work leading into todays race, and starting over a more favourable distance, was not surprised by todays forward showing.
