Rider T Brooker reported the horse never travelled comfortably at any stage of the event and may not have appreciated the soft track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery rate. Trainer J Gleeson advised he felt the 4 weeks between runs may also have had an impact on the performance. Stewards noted the explanation.
