When asked to comment on the performance rider T Marshall stated the horse travelled comfortably in the run however when placed under pressure from the 500m failed to quicken as expected and was disappointing. Trainer B Baldwin could offer no explanation other than CHERRY SODA may not have run out a strong 1350m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
