When questioned in relation to the below market expectation performance, Jockey B Thornton advised that the gelding travelled only reasonably during the event, and when placed under pressure from the 500m, responded for only a short distance and in his opinion proved disappointing in the home straight. Jockey Thornton added that the gelding did not feel entirely comfortable in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
