Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1600m when racing keenly was steadied to avoid heels. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Jockey C Whitley could offer no tangible explanation for the poor performance of the mare which he reported failed to run on in the home straight as he had expected. A Post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have an abrasion to the forehead however no other abnormalities were detected.
