B/Awk & lost ground. When quest Rdr stated from favourable gate, gelding was expected to be in a forward position, however; if other runners were looking to cross & take lead, to take a sit, bearing in mind the large weight impost. Said was happy to let another runner cross near 1000m & take a sit behind, however; when that runner steadied after crossed shortly after, mount settled much further back than intended-added gelding then was off the bit from 600m until after straightening, then had difficulty obtaining clear run approaching 200m before shifting to outside, made late ground to w/post
