Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice C Collis stated that the gelding travelled well during the event, however when placed under pressure in the home straight, failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer S Kendrick was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary certificate, inclusive with results of an ECG, and to officially trial prior to next racing.
