Rider J Byrne reported the gelding failed to handle the prevailing track conditions and was eased down near the 300 metres after rider J Byrne became concerned with the horse’s action near the 300 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of CHOMPERS revealed no abnormalities other than some coughing when pulling up.
