Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Blundered approaching the 550m. momentarily steadied approaching the 250m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer R. Beaton was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to start in a trial or race again.
