Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. When asked to comment on the performance, which was below market expectations, jockey C. Brown stated that after being slowly away he was placed further back in the field then he had intended, and during the early and middle stages of the race when the pace was only steady, the colt overraced and, in his opinion, this had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort. He indicated that, in his opinion, the horse may not run out a strong 1600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed a mucus discharge in both nostrils and increased lung sounds.
