Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in home straight. When asked about apparent improved performance, co-tnr stated gelding was suited by quick backup from start on 7/8, adding gelding is one-paced & it was able to be ridden in a manner that best suits horse. When asked about gelding racing more forward, co-tnr advised no set instructs were issued & with Blks off & gelding having 1st start on synthetic track, was not overly surprised by tactics adopted by rider, particularly given the racing characteristics of gelding as a one-paced type. Explanation noted.
