Blundered behind on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Rider M Harley could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance, other than being caught wide for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

At the request of the rider, underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Eased out of the race by its rider near the 900m and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off foreleg. Trainer S Sixtus was advised ASTROPHYSICS would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start.
