Slow to begin. Forced wider on the track from the 500m. Trainer L Ross reported to stewards that the horse displayed signs of heat stress post-race after having returned to scale with its tongue over the bit and he would now experiment with the use of a tongue tie.

Hung out badly throughout the event and as a result took no competitive part in the event from the 500m. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Bruce Hill was advised that the gelding must officially trial prior to racing again.
