An explanation was sought regarding the mares disappointing performance. Jockey stated that after beginning well and being caught wide he elected to settle in a more forward position with cover. Jockey further added that MALAHIDE has previously raced best when ridden towards the rear of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
