Race 6. Trainer J. Dunn was reprimanded pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor GLASS OF ROSE by the prescribed time.
 
 
 
Race 1 - BECOME A BRC MEMBER FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 3 PLATE         1350 Metres
 
HEY DAISY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Leaving the 100m, attempted to secure running to the inside of AUTUMNGIRL where there was insufficient room and as a result went to the line without being fully tested.  
 
THATS ARCHIES GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
TRAFALGAR SQUARE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LUKEY BLUE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SMART CRY – Over raced in the early stages.
 
AUTUMNGIRL – Began awkwardly.
 
SHE OURS – Raced in restricted room approaching the winning post.  


Race 2 - FAMILY RACEDAY 12 SEPTEMBER QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP           1350 Metres
 
HIGH AUTHORITY – Leaving the 800m, forced wider by HOT IMAGE which shifted out whilst racing keenly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
GOLD CZECH – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
COURTHEZON – Leaving the 600m, momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of HIGH AUTHORITY. Held up for clear running on rounding the home turn until the 250m.
 
EXCEED THE SALE – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
HOT IMAGE – Bumped on jumping.
 
MYNEMESIS – Leaving the 300m, bumped by METAL BOSS which shifted out to improve.
 
MISSILE SHOT – Approaching the 900m, had to be steadied when HOT IMAGE shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey T. Brooker, rider of HOT IMAGE, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
ISKENDERUN (NZ) – Began awkwardly, bumped and lost ground. Over raced in the early stages.


Race 3 - MEKKA RACEDAY 22 AUGUST BENCHMARK 90 HANDICAP            2200 Metres
 
CAVALRY MAN – Commenced to over race for a short distance when the pace of the race slackened near the 1800m.
 
FERNAO (IRE) – Rider M. Du Plessis reported his mount was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying clinical signs of the thumps.
 
DEVINE FALLS – Slow to begin. Commenced to over race for a short distance when the pace of the race slackened near the 1800m. Commenced to tire from the 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed upper respiratory sounds. Trainer G. Sitek was advised that DEVINE FALLS will require a veterinary clearance including an endoscopic examination prior to racing again. Mr Sitek was also advised that DEVINE FALLS will be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again, and the nomination of DEVINE FALLS at Metropolitan venues would be refused until form is re-established at provincial level. Trainer G. Sitek advised that it was his likely intention to retire the horse.
 
MARENARO – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.


Race 4 - SKY RACING COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 3 PLATE        1350 Metres
 
ALDOLFITO – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.  

BEE EXACT – Improved onto heels leaving the 300m and was obliged to shift out. Approaching the 200m, raced in restricted room between ENTRUSTING which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and MELTDOWN which shifted out marginally.
 
ENTRUSTING – Forced wider rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Bumped at the 200m.

MELDUBIOUS – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
MELTDOWN – Bumped at the 200m.
 
RAZORS – Jockey J. Orman reported that the gelding was required to work hard in the early stages, which in his opinion, may have had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.  


Race 5 - XXXX CLASS 6 HANDICAP          1600 Metres
 
JUST FLYING – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide until the 1000m. Jockey B. Thompson reported that the gelding was required to work hard in the early stages, which in his opinion, may have had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort.
 
ECLAIR AWESOME – Slow to begin.
 
OCEAN ZAR – Began awkwardly and bumped COOL MUSIC.

COOL MUSIC – Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.


Race 6 - KIDMAN BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP       1600 Metres

PIPISTRELLE – Apprentice O. Kendal pled guilty to a charge pursusuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m, and 16 times in totality. Ms Kendal’s license to ride in races was suspended for 9 days commencing midnight the 23rd of August 2026 and ending the 1st of September 2026.
 
MATAWAI (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Whilst weakening near the 150m, had to be steadied from the heels of CARNEGIE HILL which laid in despite the efforts of its rider.

TUHINGA – Bumped on jumping.

ROGUERY – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Jockey J. Orman could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stable representative C. Cavanagh reported that the gelding was not suited by the more forward position today than its recent racing pattern. He further advised he would report back to Stewards anything that may come to light in the coming days that may have effected the performance.
 
VICTORY COMMAND (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
PINK VIXEN – Apprentice S. Callow pled guilty to a charge and was fined $500 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m (12 in totality).
 
RIEZ SOUVENT – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Near the 100m, lost the use of his offside rein momentarily. Cast the near fore plate.

CARNEGIE HILL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

ZAHER (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
IN SOCIETY – Raced wide throughout.
 

Race 7 - CBT COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP     1200 Metres
 
MUSCHIALLI – Over raced in the early stages.
 
ADDRIEL – Forced wider rounding the home turn when BLAZING HARRY shifted out.

TRUE AMOR – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages.
 
CALICO JACK – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer T. Miller was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
LION CLASS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SUPERALLOY – Lost its tongue tie enroute to the barriers, which was reaffixed prior to the start. Began awkwardly.


Race 8 - BUNDABERG RUM FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP     1200 Metres
 
SHE'S EXOTIC – Over raced in the early stages. Near the 500m, held up and improved onto the heels of ACAPELLA SUN. Leaving the 200m, had to be checked after failing to secure a run between ACAPPELLA SUN and SUPER DAISY, before clipping heels shortly after. Held up on the heels of ACAPELLA SUN leaving the 100m, when that runner shifted out. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards questioned apprentice B. Osmond regarding the tactics adopted on the mare after leaving the 400m. Apprentice Osmond advised that shortly after straightening a run appeared between ACAPELLA SUN and SUPER DAISY and when attempting to secure that run approaching the 200m, both ACAPELLA SUN and SUPER DAISY shifted ground resulting in his mount being disappointed for that run. He further added that after clipping heels, he had some concern with the action of the mare, however, did attempt to improve into a run to the outside of ACAPELLA SUN near the 100m but was then held up on the heels of that runner when it shifted ground under pressure. Stewards when assessing the explanation tendered by apprentice Osmond along with the available footage, took the matter no further other than to note his comments.
 
ACAPPELLA SUN – Over raced in the early stages.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
GOSPEL GIRL – Carried out by NEPRAVDA near the 800m.
 
GRINZINGER CHAMP – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TORNADO EXPRESS – Near the 800m, had to be steadied from heels when GOSPEL GIRL shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice B. Youngberry, rider of GOSPEL GIRL, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this event.
 
SUPER DAISY – Laid in under pressure approaching the 200m.  

NEPRAVDA – Approaching the 800m, shifted out and bumped GOSPEL GIRL.


Race 9 - LADBROKES BIG BETS COPY NOW OPEN HANDICAP            1200 Metres
 
EPIC PROPORTIONS – Bumped on jumping. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice J. Franklin reported that the gelding was required to work hard in the early stages, which in his opinion, may have had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
NETTUNO – Held up for clear running in the home straight.
 
PEREILLE – Shifted out and bumped TALTARNI FIELDS rounding the home turn. Near the 200m, momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed at the heels of KING KAPA which shifted out and away from EPIC PROPORTIONS.  
 
HATCHET – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Jockey B. Thompson reported that the gelding raced flat today, and in his opinion, may have come to the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer’s representative O. Peoples advised that it is the stables likely intention to send the gelding for a spell.
 
KING KAPA – Near the 200m, shifted out and away from EPIC PROPORTIONS.  
 
TALTARNI FIELDS – Bumped on jumping. Bumped rounding the home turn.        
 
EMPEROR – Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced entering the home straight when KING KAPA shifted out to improve. Rider of KING KAPA, apprentice B. Youngberry was advised to exercise greater care. Rider J. Bayliss advised that despite travelling wide, he was still somewhat disappointed with the gelding’s performance. Stewards intend to follow up with trainer M. Dunn regarding the performance of EMPEROR.
 
CASPERNOVA – Slow to begin.
 
MILLANE – Fractious in the barriers. Began very awkwardly. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.  
 
TONNEOFGRIT – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
