GENERAL
 
1.    Jockey Jackson Murphy was indisposed and did not attend today’s meeting. The replacement riders are as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
2.    Stewards granted permission for Trainer Darby Amos to scratch his runners from the meeting following race 2 due to concerns relating to concerns regarding river levels of the Burdekin River. The scratchings are as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
3.    Stewards accepted the following overweights:
Race 1 – A. Butler & R. Wiggins – +0.5kg
Race 2 – S. Cormack – +0.5kg, C. Meehan & J. Stanley – +1.0kg
Race 4 – D. Smith – +0.5kg, C. Meehan – +1.0kg
Race 5 – A. Butler – +1.0kg
Race 7 – J. Stanley – +0.5kg
Race 8 – A. Thomson & S. Cormack – +1.0kg

Race 1: HYGAIN QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1200M

Race 1 was delayed 13 minutes with a new starting time of 12:48pm due to a replacement ambulance driver being required.
 
MR OREO – Improved onto the heels of TEN PINS near the 1000 metres when the tempo eased, having to be heavily restrained.
 
SECRET SKYFALL – Slow into stride then refused to stretch out in the early stages, losing considerable ground. Trainer Mr Matthew McGuire advised that SECRET SKYFALL must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Mr McGuire advised that SECRET SKYFALL would now be spelled.
 
TEN PINS – Began very awkwardly.
 
GYMNOSOMATA – Lost its off-hind plate in running; Raced keenly in the early stages.  
 
SPIETH IMPEDIMENT – Slow to begin.
 
THE KOBAY TRAIN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Inclined to lay out under pressure over the final 200 metres.
 
Following the running of Race 1, the track was downgraded to a Heavy 9.
 

Race 2: MITAVITE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD AND FOUR-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1400M

KOBAYASTAR – Began awkwardly.
 
TIME TO PROPHET – Stewards questioned rider Jason Taylor after the filly, which had begun very awkwardly, then appeared to attempt to buck and in consequence settled back. Rider Taylor explained that TIME TO PROPHET, which had bounded in the air, then become very awkward in its action and in his opinion, this was the reason for the filly appearing to buck. Given all circumstances, Mr Taylors explanation was noted. Nonetheless a warning was placed on the racing manners of TIME TO PROFIT.
 
CRAICARO – Was declared a late scratching at 10:34am due to Jackson Murphy being indisposed and no other suitable rider being available at the weight.
 
MYTHBUSTA – Slow to begin. Over-raced and raced ungenerously throughout.
 
 
 
Following the running of the second race the track was subjected to a significant amount of rainfall over a short period, with the parade ring becoming flooded and other infrastructure being inundated with water. Given all circumstances the meeting was abandoned at 1:45pm.
