WilliamsonStewards – K. Daly, A. Dowsett, H. Matthews, J. Robinson Race 1: MAEVA HOSPITALITY Maiden Handicap (1200 METRES) CRACKENTHORPE (NZ) – Slow to begin. IN SOCIETY – Raced wide throughout the event. ZOULAR – Restrained heavily at the start in order to obtain a position closer to the fence. After passing the 800m, improved to the inside of THE MERCHANT and shortly afterwards became awkward and had to be checked from the heels of THE MERCHANT when racing in restricted room. MOANA GOLD (NZ) – Rider N. Beriman reported her mount laid in under pressure in the home straight. BEGORRA – Raced wide throughout the event. AMAHLE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced Wide throughout the event. Race 2:CATANACH'S JEWELLERS Maiden Handicap (1600 METRES) BRAND NEW MOON – Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels near the 700m. BOROGORU – Trainer D. Van Dyke advised Stewards of a change of tactics, with the addition of blinkers for today’s event, the gelding will be ridden forward. Slow to begin and then ridden aggressively whilst racing wide in the early stages in order to obtain the lead passing the 1000m. GAGNANTE ENCHERE – Overraced in the early stages when restrained to obtain cover. GREEN MEADOWS – Held up rounding the home turn and continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running until the 300m. MY MISCHKA – Nearing the 300m, attempted to improve into restricted room to the inside of BOROGORU and had to be checked when BOROGORU shifted in slightly at that point. Stewards inquired into this incident and found that for a short distance leaving the 400m, a run had presented to the inside of BOROGORU, however Stewards were not satisfied that MY MISCHKA had obtained that run before BOROGORU had shifted back towards the fence and were therefore not satisfied to take any action against any rider. STPETERSCATHEDRAL – Raced wide throughout the event. Race 3:KABOOM CONCRETE PUMPING Class 3 Handicap (1400 METRES)BONDED AFFAIR – Raced keenly whilst racing wide during the early and middle stages of the event. Approaching the 200m, apprentice C. Collis, when attempting to apply the whip, his whip-hand became entangled in the reins placing him at a disadvantage until the 100m, at which point he dropped his whip. Stewards questioned apprentice C. Collis in relation to his tactics when over-racing in a three-wide position leaving the 900m, as to whether he had opportunity to allow his horse to stride to take up a leading position closer to the fence. Apprentice C. Collis explained that pre-race, he had anticipated WEST CORK showing speed and leading, and he would allow his mount to stride forward with that gelding. When this did not occur, he attempted to find cover however was unable to do so and was caught wide as a result. Apprentice C. Collis accepted that in hindsight he would have been better served allowing his horse to stride forward from the 900m. WEST CORK – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider R. Dolan reported that his mount did not show its customary early speed and in his opinion raced quite flat. HILLCREST AVENUE (IRE) – Raced wide throughout the event. VALANTINO ROC (NZ) – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. BADDA BOOM BABY – Had difficulty securing clear running when rounding the home turn and until near the 250m. KARAOKE AL – Rider M. Hellyer Reported that his mount’s saddle shifted shortly after the start and that the gelding laid in under pressure in the home straight. TOUCH OF GRACIE – Shortly after passing the 400m, was disappointed from clear running and, resulting in its rider to stop riding and alter course in order to improve to the inside of DISSELATION which shifted out at that point. GULF OF SAROS – Restrained at the start in order to obtain a position closer to the fence. Race 4: ALLCHIN AIRCONDITIONING & REFRIGERATION Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1200 METRES ISLAND MAGIC – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. BURNETT – Slow to begin. READY TO BOOM – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced ungenerously and laid in throughout the event. SUCCESSFUL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. HOW RUDE – Rider A. Jones reported that her mount travelled well throughout the event, however failed to respond when asked for an effort passing the 400m. Rider A. Jones also reported an abnormal respiratory noise post-race from her mount. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. The trainer’s representative has advised they will have an endoscopic examination undertaken on the filly and will report back to stewards on the findings. Race 5: IAT TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 58 Handicap (1000 METRES) NEW HAMPSHIRE – Obliged to alter course in the home straight as MAKE IT SO shifted wider on the track. ARTIE PANTZ – Held up rounding the home turn and until leaving the 200m. IPHIMEDIA – Disappointed for a run shortly after entering the home straight and was obliged to shift back to the inside of LUVARCHIE when that horse shifted out. DIAMOND LASS – Raced wide throughout. ASHILLA – Momentarily held up near the 200m and again over the final 50m. DIBBA DOBBA – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. MISSILE ONE – Trainer J. Bruce advised of a change of tactics pre-race that the mare was to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Raced wide throughout the event. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Obliged to shift in during the concluding stages of the home straight as MAKE IT SO shifted in. MR POLAR – Raced wide throughout the event. MAKE IT SO – Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly in the home straight under pressure. HIT – Had difficulty securing clear running for a short distance passing the 300m. Race 6: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Class 1 Handicap (1800 METRES) KHANT QUIT (NZ) – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. HEREDITARY (NZ) – Held up momentarily on entering the home straight. BLUEPRINT – Slow to begin. MIGRATORY – Rider J. Stanley reported that his mount over-raced in the early stages of the event. Race 7: TAB BENCHMARK 58 Handicap (1400 METRES) SOCK’EMSID – Shifted wider from the 750m and raced wide from that point onwards. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. CENTRAL PARK – Raced wide throughout the event. ITZA MOTZA – Checked from heels on entering the home straight when DANCE BACK shifted out. Jockey R. Dolan (DANCE BACK) pleaded guilty to careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that when approaching the 400m, rider R. Dolan directed his mount out when not sufficiently clear of ITZA MOTZA causing that horse to be checked and lose ground. R. Dolan’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days pursuant to AR 131 (a) for careless riding, commencing midnight 02/02/2025 until midnight 15/02/2025. CHANGE THE DEEL – Slow to begin. COOL PANELS – Held up in the home straight. PENDING – Slow to begin EIGHT CYLINDERS (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. BONNET ROUGE – Raced in restricted room near the 300m between SOCK’EMSID and SCRIBBLE, which shifted out. STORM DREAMER – Slow to begin. Held up on entering the home turn. UCELLE – Laid out under pressure in the straight and near the 200m shifted out abruptly when struck with the whip. ANOTHER DAZZLER – Slow to begin SCRIBBLE – Began awkwardly. DANCE BABE – Near the 500m was held up for clear running and became awkward on heels. Bumped near the 300m when COOL PANELS shifted out.
