SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
From Eagle Farm 28/12/2024
Race 2: Trainer T. Gollan subsequently reported that it was now their intention to send LOCKYER for a spell.
 
From Sunshine Coast 26/12/2024
Race 6: Trainer K. Schweida subsequently reported that BOOMSTER may have had mild heat stress post-race and it was his likely intention to continue with its current preparation.
 
GENERAL
As Jockey V. Duric was not riding due to acceptable reasons, he was subsequently replaced as per the Race Day Summary.
 
Apprentice C. Sutherland was cleared by the club Doctor to fulfil his engagements today.
 
Race 1: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA Maiden Plate 1800 METRES
 
BRIEF SPIRIT – Near the 1200m was obliged to steady from heels when the pace of the race slackened.
 
KHANT QUIT – Near the 1200m, when the pace slackened, improved onto the heels of BIT OF GRUNT and had to be steadied.
 
PRIDE OF PASSION – Commenced to weaken leaving the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
ZINOTAR – Left a trailing position near the 1300m and was allowed to stride forward to find a midfield trailing position near the 800m. Rounding the home turn was bumped, became unbalanced when KHANT QUIT shifted out to improve.
 
ABOVEFORTY – Laid in during the early part of the home straight and was obliged to steady from heels.
 
CAESAR CAKE – Slow to begin. Near the 1200m was obliged to steady from heels when the pace of the race slackened.
 
SASSY TAP – Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: PROMO GEAR QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate 1200 METRES
 
AVERRED – Bumped after the start.
 
DRANITZELLE – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
DUKEDOM – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ROCKY REWARD. Leaving the 400m, raced in restricted room when THE ADJUSTA shifted out. Jockey M. Murphy rider of THE ADJUSTA was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
FULL STRENGTH – Shifted out on jumping and bumped AVERRED.
 
PUFF ‘N’ HARRY – When asked to comment, Jockey M. Harley could offer no explanation for today’s disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
 
ROCKY REWARD – Bumped after the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of heat stress.
 
THE ADJUSTA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently cleared to start.
 
ZOUCHASE – When asked to comment, Jockey N. Beriman could offer no explanation for the geldings disappointing performance. Trainer N. McCall was advised to report back on the condition of the gelding in the days subsequent.
 
Race 3: KATE ANDERSON DESIGN QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1200 METRES
 
A ROYAL SORT – Apprentice J. Williams reported his mount felt awkward in its action and was eased down over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer L. Freedman was advised A ROYAL SORT would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to resuming racing.
 
BITTEN BY A PRINCE – Near the 900m, steadied from the heels of PUJITA when the pace of the race slackened, and that runner was obliged to shift in slightly from BRUTAL SUE.
 
BRUTAL SUE – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 900m when the pace slackened. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester reported that his mount was not suited by the race tempo then raced greenly throughout.
 
CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS – Raced keenly during the early stages. Leaving the 700m when racing in restricted room, raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
DIVINE SOURCE – Apprentice T. Fenlon reported that it was not her intention to lead, however the filly got its tongue over the bit in the early stages, and she elected to allow her mount to stride forward.
 
GAGNANTE ENCHERE – Held up rounding the home turn and near the 300m was disappointed for a run between CASTELVETRANO and RED FEATHER BOA was then obliged to shift wider to secure clear running.
 
LLEWELLYN BAY – Raced keenly during the early stages.
 
PUJITA – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
QUERIDA – Shifted out and bumped PUJITA. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to its near foreleg.
 
SEABEE – Raced wide throughout. Bumped on a number of occasions rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight when BRUTAL SUE was attempting to shift wider.
 
Race 4: KENZEE CONSTRUCTIONS OPEN Handicap 1400 METRES
 
INVER PARK – Slow to begin.
 
OVIDIUS – On arrival to the barriers, had the tongue tie refitted.
 
REJOICED – Laid in on several occasions and brushed the rail when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CENTAUR – Raced ungenerously in the early stages when attempting to restrain for cover.
 
Race 5: HAPPY BIRTHDAY PENNY BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1000 METRES
 
DIVINE OKAY – Raced wide throughout.
 
INVINOVICH – Slow to begin. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
CHIKARA – Began awkwardly.
 
MR ENCORE – Began awkwardly. Laid out during the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 6: THE SURF CLUB MOOLOOLABA BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 METRES
 
The start of this race was slightly delayed due to southern events being delayed.
 
AIR MARSHAL – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of heat stress, have a very poor post-race recovery and was subsequently treated on course. Trainer R. Beaton was advised AIR MARSHAL would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming. Trainer R. Beaton was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider within the prescribed time.
 
DESERT KOBY – Laid out during the home straight before being corrected.
 
HEROIC CHIEF – Raced keenly during the middle stages. Leaving the 600m improved onto the heels of ITALIAN DANCER and was obliged to shift out.
 
PROVANCE – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
READY TO BOOM – Leaving the 100m, shifted in and away from PROVANCE when weakening.
 
WHISKEY AND BEER – Raced wide throughout. Leaving the 600m, hampered when HEROIC CHIEF shifted out to avoid heels.
 
AGED CARE – After being caught wide early, restrained to a rearward position. Raced wide for the majority. Leaving the 600m was hampered when HEROIC CHIEF shifted out to avoid heels. When asked to comment on tactics adopted, Apprentice B. Wheeler stated that he attempted to go forward in the early stages however it became evident that he was likely to be caught very wide and elected to restrain for cover.
 
Race 7:  TAB Class 1 Handicap 1400 METRES
 
STARLIGHT NATION – Shifted out slightly leaving the 1300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of heat stress.
 
BETTER BE SLICK – Began awkwardly.
 
ABLE SEAMAN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight, obliging its rider to stop and correct.
 
SO YOU CAN TORQUE – Improved onto heels approaching the 100m and shifted in to secure clear running.
 
BLACK OPIUM – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey M. Rodd stated that in his opinion the mare may appreciate a step up in distance.
 
LOST MY NIGHTIE – Began awkwardly.
