Race 1: TAB MAIDEN PLATE 800 M VICTORY MELODY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.Raced five wide for the majority of the event. SHAQUE D’AMOUR – Rider M Du Plessis reported the gelding was inclined to lay out at various stages of the event. ELLA DE AUR – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Rider M Hellyer reported the mare felt awkward in its action and for this reason he desisted from pressuring BORISOVA in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg leg. Trainer T Costiopoulos was advised ELLA DE AUR would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. KICK AND RUN – Due to being an aged mare and having its first race start, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. BORISOVA – When asked to comment on the performance apprentice C Collis reported the filly was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn, adding that in his opinion BORISOVA may not have been suited by today’s soft track conditions.Raced four wide for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off-hind leg. RAZOR’S MAGIC – Raced six wide for the majority of the event. Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Soft 6. Race 2: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M NASIRON – Bumped with AUSTRALASIA at the start.Rider H Richardson reported the gelding raced greenly at various stages of the event. NOTTINGTON PRINCE – Jumped in at the start and bumped DECEITFUL MISS. UP OVER’N’ GONE – After being kicked by another runner on arrival at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching art 2:47pm on veterinary advice. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on UP OVER’N’ GONE be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply: 1st DECIETFUL MISS – 0c win, 6c place2nd COOL MOON – 1c place3rd AUSTRALASIA – 11c place AUSTRALASIA – Bumped with NASIRON at the start. COOL MOON – When asked to comment on the performance rider A Mallyon advised in his opinion the filly was not suited by the rain affected surface adding COOL MOON may not have appreciated the step up to 1200m. DECEITFUL MISS – Bumped at the start. Held up approaching the home turn. Race 3: SCHWEPPES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350 M BOULEVARD BOY – Leaving the 1200m steadied from the heels of DAUNTING INSTINCT (P Hamblin) which shifted in when not fully clear. P Hamblin was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.Between the 700m and 500m held up behind the weakening DAUNTING INSTINCT.When asked to comment rider L Dempsey advised the gelding over-raced in the early stages was disappointing when placed under pressure from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms of cardiac arrhythmia. Representative for trainer B Lockwood was advised BOULEVARD BOY must trial or gallop satisfactorily over 1000m and would also require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. NINJITZOU – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. SEXY TIME – Rider E Lang reported the filly raced, which was having its first race start, greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight, adding that in her opinion SEXY TIME would derive benefit from today’s event. DAUNTING INSTINCT – Weakened from the 500m. MAN OF THE TOWN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. PELE PRINCESS – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival on-course after aggravating a minor pre-existing abrasion on the nearside hip when being transported to the track and was cleared to start. Slow muster speed at the start. Race 4: SEVEN NEWS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1680 M The start of this event was delayed approximately 3 minutes when QAS staff attended to a licensed person. THEBARBEROFSEVILLE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. SHE’S GOT VEUVE – Change of tactics, to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. After being slow to begin was ridden forward and settled in the position behind the leader in the early stages. JAMAICAN MECRAZY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. When asked to comment on the performance rider E Lang stated the mare raced flat between the 600m and 400m, adding that today’s event was a step up in distance from its most recent start at Gatton 19th January. Race 5:BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1350 M I SEE YOU COMING – Rider M Rodd reported he was not entirely satisfied with the action of the gelding on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. CENTRE BOUNCE – Slow to begin. NORTHERN DECREE – Raced keenly in the early stages.Approaching the 200m shifted to the inside of NORTHERN DECREE to obtain clear running. CAN’T GETWHATIWANT – Bumped with APRIL AUGUSTA at the start.Cast its off fore plate in running. APRIL IN AUGUSTA – Bumped with CAN’T GETWHATIWANT at the start.Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight before corrected by its rider. CONNEWARRE – Stewards permitted the gelding to be declared a late scratching at 3:50pm due to the prevailing track conditions. Race 6: RED BULL BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1100 M BUGALUGS – Taken in near the 150m. Rider C Bellamy dropped her whip near the 150m. SHOT OF WHISKEY – Slow to begin. Crowded for room and had to steadied near the 250m. At a subsequent inquiry C Collis, rider of SKYWOLF, was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 250m he shifted to the inside of ALL INCLUSIVE when not fully clear of SHOT OF WHISKEY which was crowded for room and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SKYWOLF. BOOM MASTER – Raced wide for the majority of the event. CRICKETS CHIRPING – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers. CITY CHICK – Raced wide for the majority of the event. ALL INCLUSIVE – When tiring was momentarily steadied near the 150m when crowded for room by BUGALUGS which was taken in by BOOM MASTER (S Rutledge). S Rutledge was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident. When asked to comment rider J Orman advised the gelding raced keenly in the early and middle stages and when placed under pressure was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 7: LEMSECCO CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1350 M BOOMSTER – Raced three wide without cover throughout. SWITCHBLADE – Raced four wide without cover throughout. OUTTA CONTROL – Slow to begin. HELLO IN THERE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.Raced three wide with cover throughout.
