Race 1 - LADBROKES RACING CLUB MAIDEN (1) 431m  

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN (2) 431m

 

4 Jenny Dutton – Severely checked rounding the top turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near side foreleg and was subsequently stood down for 5 days.

 

8 Almighty Leo – Checked in the top turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside hip and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.

1 Joy Moo Moo – Eased and turned its head outwards towards another runner rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer D Johnstone regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mr Johnstone, stewards deemed Joy Moo Moo had taken its attention away from the lure and therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Joy Moo Moo was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial.

 

Race 4 – QGRC 6PW 431m

 

3 Mum’s Tiger – Turned its head and made muzzle contact with a runner to the inside. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr D Bailey regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at that stage of the event, after hearing the steward’s observation, reviewing the video replay and the trainers’ submissions, stewards deemed that Mum’s Tiger did make muzzle contact with the greyhound to its inside and therefore invoked GAR 123 Marring. As this was the greyhound’s 2nd offence under this rule Mum’s Tiger was suspended from racing at all tracks for 28 days and until the completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.  

 

6 Spring Shaquille – Commenced to give ground rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the near hind leg and was subsequently stood down for 28 days. Further, the greyhound will be required to complete an injury trial prior to next racing

 

Race 5 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 6 (1) 431m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 6 - ROSEWOOD VETERINARY SERVICE GRADE 6 (2) 431m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 7 - CHASE NEWSPAPER GRADE 5 (1) 431m

 

2 Minter Elite – Commenced to give ground entering the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the off hind leg and was subsequently stood down for 10 days.

 

7 Anytime Romeo – Took its attention away from the lure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer L Brand regarding the greyhound’s actions at that stage of the event, after reviewing the video replay and the hearing the submissions from Mrs L Brand, stewards deemed Anytime Romeo had taken its attention away from the lure therefore invoked GAR 124 Failing to Pursue. As this was the greyhound’s 1st offence under this rule Anytime Romeo was suspended from racing at Ipswich for 28 days and until the successful completion of a satisfactory steward’s trial

 

Race 8 - JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS GRADE 5 (2) 431m

3 Inspired Reason – Checked and commenced to give ground approaching the top turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have sustained an injury to the offside pin and was subsequently stood down for 7 days.
