THE QUEENSLAND RACING CARNIVAL IS WHERE CHAMPIONS EMERGE.

Last year, it was Apache Chase and Alligator Blood that shone brightest, and this year the tradition continues.

Staged over 10 action-packed weeks, more than $25 million in prize money will go on the line, including eight Group 1s – seven of which surpassing $1 million.

The $1 million Group 1 Doomben Cup is contested by some of Australasia’s best middle-distance weight-for-age horses, and in 2022 it was Zaaki looking for back-to-back triumphs.

However, it was not to be for the champion, rolled by the Team Snowden-trained Huetor in a boilover.

It’s a big day for the fillies and mares, with three major black-type  lead ups for the girls thanks to The Roses, the Carter Stakes and the Pam O’Neill.
