Racing in Kumbia began in 1928, ceased during war years, before resuming at intervals between 1953 -1956. Racing began in earnest from 1956 to present day.
The club once raced 8 times a year but now only races Melbourne Cup Day with a 5 race program, including the Kumbia Cup part of the Country Cups Challenge race series. The raceday continues to be a major annual event for the Kumbia community.
