Jockey R Fradd advised that the gelding did not show the speed that he had anticipated as he felt he would have been able to cross the runners drawn to his inside in the early stages. He added that when unable to cross the runners to his inside, he was forced to race wide throughout, however in his opinion the gelding raced somewhat flat in today's event. Jokic Raced wide for the majority of the event. Weakened from the 300m. Rider D Baker reported he desisted from pressuring JOKIC when the horse felt short in its action in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. When asked to comment on tactics adopted near the 1000m when shifted from a three wide position with cover behind the winner DEVINE FALLS to a four wide position without cover, D Baker explained JOKIC was reluctant to race behind other horses and for that reason he elected to shift wider at that point Flinton 08/04/2023

Passing the 1100m was restrained from the heels of Sir Finn which laid out and passing the 950m became unbalanced. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, rider stated that his mount was disadvantaged after receiving interference early in the race and whilst it would be better suited over further ground, it was nevertheless somewhat disappointing today in respect to its failure to run on in the straight. Commenced to buck shortly after the start dislodging Apprentice S Nielson. HALLSIDE WILDTHING turned and was recaptured by barrier staff shortly after this incident. Apprentice S Nielson was treated by Ambulance Officers on the track and then transported to the Mount Isa Hospital for further observation. Trainer T Parry was advised that HALLSIDE WILDTHING will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before racing again. Mount Isa 18/03/2023

Evrynow'n'then Slow to begin. Held up for running from the 400m until entering the home straight. When qst, app L. Sykes stated after being slow to begin from the wide barrier, he positioned at the tail of the field where comfortable. Added that his mount travelled well throughout, however when improving into the race, became held up. Std he elected not to shift his mount wider on the track and ride patiently for a run on the rail. He further added that when obtaining clear running, mnt finished off well. Nanango 08/04/2023
