After beginning only fairly, was ridden forward in an attempt to obtain a forward position, however after being beaten for pace the gelding was posted wide and without cover throughout the event. Rider noted in hindsight after being slow into stride, the more preferable option would have been restraining and obtaining a position with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Pomfrett stated her instructions were to go forward from the wide gate as the gelding best performs when ridden this way as it does not posses a sprint. She added that when she rode forward and obtained a position outside the leader PARUES near the 700m, in keeping with her instructions she allowed the gelding to stride forward where he was comfortable.
