Mrs Gloop When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, rider advised that his mount was unsettled in the barriers which in his view was symptomatic of the disappointing manner in which it performed today. Fudging Bumped heavily soon after the start and again near the 1000 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. FUDGING shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward. Whakamiharo Slow to begin. Commenced to weaken from the 500m taking further competitive part in the race. When questioned regarding the below market expected performance jockey R Wiggins reported after beginning poorly, he was forced to take a rearward position, and further added after travelling well through the middle stages failed to respond to his riding thereafter and disappointed. Fav's Flyer When asked to comment on the disappointing performance rider L Barr advised the horse travelled comfortably in the position outside the leader however when placed under pressure at the entrance to the home straight failed to respond to her riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness on the off foreleg. Trainer D Schulz was advised FAV’S FLYER would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start.
