When questioned regarding his riding over the final 300m, jockey L Magorrian explained that Travoli was reluctant to quicken inside runners rounding the home turn and then once shifted wider failed to respond. Stewards had some concerns over the lack of vigour shown by jockey Magorrian, however he explained that the gelding had no more to offer and he elected to use minimum vigour in the run to the line as he believed he was out of contention. Stewards accepted the explanation, however reminded jockey Magorrian not to leave himself open to question and to fully test his mounts to the line.
