When asked to comment on the disappointing performance apprentice Brooke Johnson explained the horse began well and raced in a handy position, however when placed under pressure from the 600m failed to respond to her riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B Crear could offer no explanation for the poor performance other than this was MASTER RICHARD’S first start on a sand track. In the circumstances Stewards took no direct action however did place a warning on the horse for a poor performance. |
