Bit Of Fun Trainer J Manzelmann was advised that a warning was issued regarding the gelding kicking out behind the barriers when attendants attempted to load BIT OF FUN. It was noted that rider J Baker stopped riding BIT OF FUN over the concluding stages. On returning to scale Jockey J Baker reported that he believed BIT OF FUN was not stretching out fully from the 400 metres and may have been lame. Lily Allez (NZ) Jockey S Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount Lily Allez (NZ) to shift out under hard riding over the final 200 metres checking Sirianni. Jockey S Sheargold’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 29 January 2022 and expire midnight 6 February 2022 (8 days). In assessing penalty, Stewards considered Jockey Sheargold’s good riding record in relation to the rule. Townsville 29/01/2023
