When asked to comment on tactics adopted, rider R Payne advised there were no set instructions other than to ride the horse where comfortable. She added after being bumped on jumping JACKPOT JAY settled further back in the field than anticipated. Ms Payne added at its most recent start at St George the horse hung out and made the home turn awkwardly and for that reason was today reluctant to shift wider on the home turn. Trainer P Kalinowski confirmed the instructions and Stewards noted the explanation of both parties. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
