COT: To settle further forward; settled on pace. Near 300m bumped & carried wider. When qst rdr std was instructed to ride in forward position & although beginning awkwardly was able to obtain forward position where mnt travelled comfortably. Std was satisfied to remain racing outside lead at 700m. When placed under pressure in straight mnt responded fairly & near the 300m was bumped & from this point did not respond to his riding, changed stride on a number of occasions and weakened over the final 75m so did not fully test mnt over concluding stages. Post-race vet exam revealed no abs.

When qst re performance, rdr std instructed to attempt to lead, yet after beginning well his mnt did not have sufficient speed to cross rnrs drawn inside. Std passing 700m he attempted to restrain mnt to obtain cover but it commenced to race keenly & was consequently left racing four-wide & without cover throughout event. Added mnt's wide run resulted in its inability to finish race off in the home straight, & in his opinion it did not appreciate heavy track. A post-race vet exam rev no abs. Tnr subsequently reported satisfaction with post-race condition & intention is to continue preparation.

When questioned regarding the performance and the tactics adopted on the filly, jockey J Taylor advised stewards that his instructions were to find cover and after failing to muster early speed, he elected to take up a midfield position in order to comply with instructions. Jockey Taylor further added that the filly failed to travel comfortably when racing in this position and was disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
