When qst re the disappointing performance, rdr reported the gelding travelled comfortably in the lead but failed to respond to riding in the straight. Std he had recommended to connections to experiment with a tongue-tie as the gelding may derive some benefit from the addition of this gear. A post-race vet exam revealed the gelding to have some discharge from its left nostril. Co-tnr was advise a vet clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, will be required before the gelding is permitted to race/barrier trial again.

When qst re riding & performance, rdr std he hoped to hold lead & rode mnt positively in early stages. Std when a rnr showed intent to cross & lead, he felt tempo was genuine, so he elected not to contest lead & obtained a trailing position. Std when placed under pressure in straight mnt responded to riding fairly well, but it was not suited by the early pace, as result it was not able to finish race off strongly. Add in his opinion mnt may be suited stepping up in distance where it could hold lead more comfortably. A post-race vet exam rev no abs apart from a bilateral nasal discharge.
