HARD OFFER, which was following, was hampered as a consequence. Trainer L Wheeler was advised BALTRAY must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. Mr Wheeler indicated BALTRAY would now be sent for an immediate spell.

When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey R Wiggins reported that the gelding travelled strongly during the early and middle stages however when asked to quicken in the home straight, had a tendency to hang in and proved difficult to ride out particularly over the final 100m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. A swab sample was taken. A warning was issued against the geldings racing manners.
