When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer M Morrison explained the horse was second up today for the stable, and at its first run on 17th July at Grafton TIMELY SHADOW led and set a fast early tempo over 1700m and in his opinion this did not suit the horse, which subsequently weakened over the concluding stages of the event. Mr Morrison added TIMELY SHADOW had worked well leading into today’s event, and with the horse being ridden more conservatively in the middle and early stages, he was not surprised by the forward performance today. Stewards noted the explanation.
