Rdr std that approaching 1000m, when identifying a number of inside rnrs being ridden to take up prominent positions, and with the pace being strong, he felt it best to steady and obtain cover. Rdr added that after shifting in approach to 800m, the pace steadied and the field compacted to leave his mount three wide without cover from 700m.

Tnr stated the gelding had pleased him leading into today’s race and he had expected it to perform similarly to its last start win at Kembla 20/11/21, and he added the gelding may have been unsuited by having to settle back in field and found it difficult to make up ground. Tnr reported a subsequent vet exam revealed no abs and advised it will trial before racing again.
