Slow to begin. Near the 900m commenced to race keenly and was shifted wider to avoid heels and consequently raced three-wide without cover for the remainder. Performed below market expectation as a $1.50 favourite. Rider reported after beginning only fairly he rode his mount along in the early stages to secure a more forward position, however when the pace of the race steadied near the 900m he was forced to shift out when racing keenly and as a result was forced to race three-wide from that point and was under pressure from before the home turn. Post-race revealed no abnormalities.
