Slow to begin, held up from the 400m until passing the 100m. R stated the intention was to settle on speed, however, after commencing awkwardly the mare settled further back than intended. R conceded in hindsight from the 600m he should have positioned the mare to follow the eventual winner.

When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J Byrne stated that the horse had raced keenly last start and the stable had therefore removed the blinkers from the horse’s gear. He added that the horse travelled comfortably throughout today’s event, however failed to quicken in the home straight when asked for a finishing effort. Trainer D Vandyke advised Stewards that he was somewhat disappointed with the geldings finishing effort and would monitor the horse in the coming days.
