When qst re the gelding leading, rdr advised she was instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position as it was stepping up from 1200m. Std after beginning well, she rode her mnt along to comply with instructions and, after obtaining a position in the lead, commenced to race keenly throughout the mid stages. Added she felt this was the reason for the disappointing performance and advised to drop the gelding back in distance and attempt to have it ridden with cover. Stable rep confirmed the instructions.. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs.

Rdr was unable to offer any reason for the disappointing performance of his mnt. He said that when placed under pressure in the straight, laid out and did not close off the race as anticipated. A post race vet exam revealed a small superficial laceration to the off fore medial heel bulb. Tnr advised he had anticipated a forward showing from the gelding and the only excuse he could offer was in his view, is better suited on a bigger track. Tnr rep reported that the stable was satisfied with the post-race condition of the gelding.
