Thompson commented that although he was disappointed, but the horse had excuses in that he never got into a comfortable rhythm to improve into the race and for this reason it didn’t sprint as expected and attributed this to the riderless horse and the inexperience of his mount.

When questioned, rdr stated his mnt enjoyed a comfortable run behind the leaders, however it was disappointing in manner in which it failed to respond to his riding in the straight. He added his mnt appeared to pull up satisfactorily and the only excuse he could offer was that it may not appreciate racing inside other horses. Tnr agreed with rdr's comments and added the mare, which began from the inside barrier, settled closer to the lead than normal and it would be his intention to have it ridden further back at its next race start if possible. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs.
