Rdr reported that he anticipated obtaining a comfortable lead, however from the outside barrier, he had to make some use of his mnt along the back straight to settle outside the leader. Added that mnt came under pressure immediately on straightening and was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to respond to his riding. A post race vet exam rev the gelding to be slow to recover.
