He added once he crossed, he endeavoured to steady his mnt, however, mnt raced to keenly and did not respond to his efforts to restrain. He added as a consequence his mnt was left without a finishing effort. Rdr std his best option would have been to remain racing to the outside, which would not have required him to ride mnt along early, and this may have assisted the gelding settling better. Added going fwd the gelding would be better ridden more conservatively. P/R vet exam rev no abs.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rdr advised the gelding travelled comfortably outside the lead, but when placed under pressure in the straight was inclined to lay out when racing on its off-fore lead. Added that in her opinion mnt may not have appreciated the firmer track conditions as mnt is a heavy horse. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs. Tnr rep reported stable satisfied with the post-race condition of the gelding and advised the intention is to continue with its current prep.

When qst re riding, rdr std anticipated taking up a fwd position when rnr showed intent to lead, he allowed that rnr to cross. He said that when he made this decision, he was not aware that rnr was improving fwd to lead and, as a consequence, when rnr crossed the leader near the 1000m the mare was placed in a position further back. He std had he known rnr was to improve into the lead, would have held his position. Near the 350m he commenced to attempt to improve between rnr’s. He std mnt took time to respond to riding & when rnr’s both shifted ground, was then disappointed.

She std when several rnr’s showed superior speed, she elected to come back to find cover in a mid-field position. She added in the straight was disappointed for clear running at the 350m between rnr’s, which shifted out, and as a result mnt lost momentum at this point and then took some time to balance up and respond to riding. She added mnt requires momentum in races to compete at its best, she felt the incident had a significant impact on the mare’s performance.
