Approaching the crossing near the 300 metres put in an awkward stride, shifted out abruptly and became very unbalanced in its action. As a result, rider T Banks elected to ease the horse out of the event as he was concerned that FRIDAY’S JET may have sustained an injury in the incident. ADELAIDE MOMENT, which was racing to the outside, was severely checked as a consequence. A post-race veterinary examination of FRIDAY’S JET revealed no abnormalities. Following the running of this event Stewards, and a delegation of senior riders, inspected a section of the racing surface near the 300 metre
