RR instructed FWD Pos and after settling outside the leader passing the 1000m, commenced to overrace despite his efforts to restrain and whilst aware of the tempo that was being set, given the manner in which the mare had raced through the early stages of the event, he elected to improve his position from the 600m and then it failed to respond to his riding from the 400m. Advised may benefit with the addition of a tongue tie to its raceday gear. T confirmed the instructions and advised that the mare would be spelled.

Rdr stated that approaching the turn when following the leader, which was racing on the rail, was mindful of not being held up and for this reason made the decision to shift out to obtain a run. She added that upon shifting out, the eventual winner had improved quickly to her inside and from that point she was committed to holding her racing line rounding the home turn. Stewards accepted the explanation.
