Kingscote When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey G Cartwright reported that in her opinion the large weight the gelding was required to carry combined with the step up in distance to 1300m, were the major contributing factors to the below market expectation performance. All Dash Shortly after the start was bumped. A short distance later was bumped again. From the 250m to the 200m was bumped on several occasions. Hawkesbury 17/11/2022
Near the 700m had to be eased. When qst, rdr std the mare travelled well throughout the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure in the straight, it did not respond to his riding and weakened noticeably over the final 200m. A post-race vet exam revealed the mare to be slow to recover and to have a superficial abrasion to the medial off-hind pastern. Co-tnr subsequently reported satisfaction with the post-race condition of the mare and advised the intention is to continue with its current preparation. Tuki Twelve Forced wider approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Raced wide in the early stages. Raced keenly for a short distance near the 1200m and had to eased from heels. Sunshine Coast 16/12/2022

Embossing Shifted wider passing the 1100m and made a forward move settling 3 wide outside the leaders near the 800m. Shifted ground under pressure down the running. When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance, trainer J Edwards advised, in his opinion, the step up in distance was major contributing factor to the improved showing. Mr Edwards added that whilst he was expecting an improved showing as a result of the step up in distance, he was somewhat surprised to see the gelding win today’s event. Ipswich 22/12/2022
