Began awkwardly and shortly afterwards was hampered between runners. Rider P. Hammersley advised that shortly after jumping his saddle shifted backwards placing him at a disadvantage. He added that the gelding was not comfortable on the tighter racing circuit of today’s event and would be better suited on a bigger track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards will follow up with trainer P. Quinlan in the coming days regarding the condition of the horse.

Laid in under under pressure in the home straight and near the 100m shifted in crowding the running of FEELING TOFFY which was taken in resulting in FEE being restrained to avoid heels. S Collis, rider of SIR EAMON, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Trainer T Button was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of SIR EAMON.
