Raced keenly through the early stages whilst being restrained. Commenced to weaken from the 600m and was eased down by its rider from the 200m taking no competitive part in the remainder of the race. Jockey J Stanley advised his mount felt awkward in its action from the 700m and he elected not to place the gelding under further pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was lame in the near foreleg with a veterinary clearance required prior to resuming racing.
